Leaf Girl [with my girls]

Stella Bella had a field trip this week and I was lucky to be able to attend - LOVE getting to see my little women in their school worlds! I was able to have a little group of kinders and we went exploring at Legacy Park. We had a little fall booklet to work on, a baggie to collect and a string to measure with, it was pretty fun!!!   Creating a Leaf Girl was a homework assignment continuing with the fall theme.  Big sister wanted to create something too.

I drove this week for school carpool and have been transfixed by the changing leaves.  It is stunning out there!!!  We have taken a few drives by down by the river and boy what a beautiful world we live in.  When I said the trees are getting "more and more bare", Amelia responded that they were "getting naked".  In kid world this meant tons of laughter in the backseat!  Sometimes kids, goodness their humor.  Sooooo we are enjoying the fall colours while we can because we know the trees are going to be naked soon.

afternoons with blue eyes

This woman is my afternoon sidekick and man am I cherishing my time with her.  Even just crushing Costco for groceries, as silly as it sounds....special to me!  While school is wonderful and amazing, I miss my ladies.  I am keeping busy in the mornings of course but I miss them.

extended family adventures

The Bird family peeps are so so good to us when Mr. P works insane shutdown hours.  They invited us to join them on an adventure to Fort Edmonton Park and it was a beautiful day! Six ladies and good old Uncle Jon :)  They found the mid-way to be the coolest part.

Lots of smiles as we explored, sure love these ladies!  We met up with Mr. P for dinner, it was such a great day.

ballet for our little beauty

Stella Charlene has waited for her turn to do performance ballet.  She has watched her big sister get fancy costumes and is now beyond thrilled that it is her turn.  I am pleased for her! She danced last year in a rec dance class, quite different.  Each week she is so excited to go and has great fun, preparing for a big dance at Christmas.  Her teacher is fantastic, she is a lady who has taken her talents and is a gift to her students. The studio is pretty great and it is nice to watch my little woman enjoy this experience.

park picnic with friends

The Watson women are moving and we are all quite sad about it.

We have about 6 weeks until they move and we are making the most of our time with them. This week we met up at the park by our house for a picnic.  The weather was glorious and the company was great.  Jody is one of the people that in my 'over protective new mother stage' I actually let Amelia stay with.  When I flew out east to be with Jacey and Alyson at Ability Camp, Amelia stayed with her during the day when Graham was at work.  I feel forever indebted to her for that. They will be missed!

panda & kitty

I don't think our two darlings could get any cuter?!?!  Our dear friend Kristi made up these hats and cowls for the girls, she is a wizard with yarn.  My animal loving kids were so pumped up and with the leaves turning and the crisp fall air, it seemed like the perfect time to pull them out.  It really is a pleasure to be their momma.

work hard for your money

These ladies are definitely part Polischuk....they like money hahaha! Ok, everyone needs money, most people like it and I like to tease Mr. P about the Polischuk's and their love of money.   The girls have little purses and they are on a bit of a spending spree.  They wanted some stuffies at IKEA the other day (like we need more) so I paid and then they did jobs to earn back the money.  Before running errands they said they wanted to bring their purses and I just knew that meant they would want to stop at the toy section.  They did.  They were thrilled to count out their money and pay for their top picks, I am kind of proud of them actually.

food bank drive

This past week these little ladies and I had a route for the Food Bank Drive.  If I am being totally honest it was not something we did cheerfully.  I feel a bit bad about it actually, our bad attitudes that is not the service. The classic fall cold hit our family and Amelia ended up missing a few days of school, poor woman.  The Food Bank Drive is two fold; firstly the delivery of flyer/collection bags at the beginning of the week and second the pick up of donations on Saturday.  The cold made for a delay on flyer delivery.  After doing half of the route I ended up putting out a call for any of my old YW who had a few hours to spare so we could get out the last half of our flyers. Bless my sweet Megan, without her it would have taken me a few more hours.  The Birds ended up helping me with collection and the girls were able to sit in the box of the truck 'organizing'...it was pretty great in the end.  Such a reminder how important service is and how it feels good to help.

When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God. (Mosiah 2:17):

Golden

The sky was GOLDEN, the leaves are turning GOLDEN and when we went for a drive after dinner the few fields that have yet to be harvested, totally GOLDEN.

I love Friday's.
Woohoo for weekends!
Weekends mean I get to have the girls at home and means that Mr. P has a day off, we actually get to see the guy.

Miss Stella had her ballet class and then we met friends for dinner at Boston Pizza.  This whole week driving to school we discussed the beauty of the changing leaves. We drove into the country and listened to some sweet tunes.  It was bliss.  Came across a field yet to be harvested and pulled over.  Again I wished I had better camera skills but I think we snagged a few gems.  It was so beautiful out!

I know I say it a lot but I am so grateful for these ladies, the privilege it is to be their mother.   Tonight was not planned but I am so grateful we decided to go for a drive and decided to stop.

two of a kind

We are all slowly getting into the school routine but there are still mornings when these ladies take turns wanting to just stay home - can you blame them?  I make home pretty darn fun!  Last week the friend we carpool with sent a picture of the girls walking hand in hand, I may have teared up.  Big sister sure takes her responsibility seriously and I am so happy that they have one another to encourage, support.  This week I am driving to school and because the weather is so nice we park a block away and then walk, I was walking behind and snapped this picture.  Can I just say that they WANTED to get the same back pack, melt my heart!  I love that they have one another.

two smiles

We are two weeks into school, getting time in together as the 3 Polischuk ladies is a premium. Man alive I miss summer.  We have lots of fun together though :)   These girls and their emoji's.  We hit up Michael's looking for some craft supplies for my final Young Woman's activity and came upon a bin of smiley faces, fun ensued.

final pineapple PARTY with the YW

Changes happened Sunday at church and I will be moving to Relief Society which means my sister and I get to be together -YAY- as councillors to the RS president BUT it is quite sad having to leave my Young Women.  They are strong, kind girls with crazy potential.  It has really been my pleasure to be able to serve them, I have learned so much. We had planned to have a pineapple party theme for our back to school activity and it was filled to the brim with powerful words of encouragement, farewells from those of us leaving and enthusiastic introductions from the new leaders coming in.  As seems to happen, I am hoping these girls and I will continue to stay in touch and I can watch them grow to be the magnificent women they were destined to be.

Also, isn't the pineapple theme just the coolest?!
Pipecleaner crowns,
locker magnets with the quote
and pineapple necklaces for them to wear and be reminded.
 LOVE these gals so much.

Sonic Boom

Mr. P and I love music!!!

Music is something we learned early on that we both really enjoyed.  We went album for album within our first few weeks together seeing which we both owned, it was good times.  He swung a bit harder rock and I swung a bit country/folk...that still stands.  We try to hit up concerts whenever possible and Sonic Boom is a music festival that never disappoints, a few Graham loves and a few I love.  We were TRILLED that Graham was able to get two nights off from shutdown so we could still attend, wohoo!

We saw a few old friends which made the weekend even greater.

There is something about being together watching live music. It feels so us, Jenny and Graham.
Super awesome evenings spent rockin out.

Jacey's Blessing

Jacey Bird is a light and a joy, we are pretty grateful she is ours!

She turned 8 in August so celebrated that milestone.  Jacey received a special Priesthood Blessing given by Granpa Hudkins, it was beautiful! She doesn't need to be baptized, sheneeded to come to earth to get a body.  We needed her to be part of our family, we learn lots from this woman.  This girl, she makes us all better for knowing her, the importance of sharing joy, patience and love.  That smile of hers in contagious!  She seems to know exactly when I need some love and lifts my spirits, this woman will always have a special corner in my heart.  Bird Girl faces challenges with patience and determination.  She is an absolute LIGHT and JOY. She doesn't need baptism but she needed to come to earth to get a body and man does she rock what she can, she brings such JOY!!!!

I am very thankful that my women have Miss Bird as their older cousin,
she is a great example of goodness!

Everyone needs a selfie on a special day.

The Kinder Kid

What what!  This girl is off to Kindergarten.  My heart is full of excitement and sadness because how is she this big? She has been thrilled and looking forward to this day.  We feel quite lucky that she is able to have the same teacher as Amelia did and even gets to be in the same classroom. Most of her friends from church are even in her class and a few other faces we know from the community.  Her and big sister picked the same backpack, it was pretty adorable. She packed her snack in her kitty lunch kit, laid out her outfit and was quite ready.  Stella Bella was so excited and eager to get down to business once she got into class!  Her first day was an orientation that parents attended and as we sat in the room it was with great pride that I watched her draw, answer questions and listen attentively.  Oh it made my teacher spidey senses tingle, such fun awaits her!!!

Immense growth occurs throughout this Kinder year and I am beyond thrilled to watch her learn.

Just like that, she's off.
