MERRY CHRISTMAS eve

Christmas eve was lovely!
We went out in the morning to deliver a few final gifts to our neighbors wearing our 'winter hats'.  The weather was so stunning, we had planned to go tobogganing but Mr. P had a better idea and boy did the children have a blast. The toboggan slid behind the quad quite nicely. It was all smiles until they took a spill around a corner and then the Polischuk girls were ready to warm up with some hot chocolate. Kingston, Jacey and Uncle Mikey could have gone on for hours. So much fun!!!

 *Gingerbread Houses*
We always try make gingerbread houses with the littles and it is always amazing to see how much more independent they are each year. I could not believe what fabulous little houses my ladies made almost entirely on their own. Each one turned out great. Wohoo! Bonus, Halloween candy is now all gone.

*Jib Jab Fun*
We were sent some lovely emails for the girls with special messages from Santa. They enjoyed seeing their pictures on the screen, Graham again had a pretty awesome idea.  Jib Jabs are funny little cartoons with Christmas songs where we inserted pictures of the children's faces. He made some up and it was absolutely hilarious!!!!! Amelia even figured out how they work so she made up a bunch more, such fun.

*New PJs*
As per our family tradition Gramma gave everyone new jammies and they were a big hit. Gramma also brought each of the littles some new books, they were a hit too!!!

Children bring absolute magic to Christmas.
I feel beyond grateful to have these two little women.

I also feel pretty grateful to have come from the Hinko clan, these peeps are the originals and oh how I love them.

I can't even begin to compose words for the gratitude and love I have in my heart for the three Polischuks below... joy!

Dear friends brought us this cookie family, darling.

CHRISTMAS extended family dinner

I woke early, because my kiddos wake early hahaha BUT I sat at the island enjoying the glow of the Christmas tree and quiet before the storm of the day.  I LOVE hosting and having those we love in our home! Some of the extended family on my dad's side hadn't been together in years so an invitation went out and a lovely dinner was the result.

There were oodles of treats and yumminess, fun napkin rings and lots of family.

The littles had special napkin rings that were different pictures of the nativity scene that they could colour.

My uncle Mark is super good with meat and has done the turkey two years in a row. I am super grateful because the turkey actually scares me, I will gladly organize the rest but honestly this year it was a real pot luck with help from all who came. We had a house full with 28 people!!! We also learned that using our slow cookers set to the warm option is amazing, really a game changer when hosting a large crowd. The meal turned out brilliant, thanks to everyone!

One of the things I love when everyone is gathered together are the little moments shared, the smiles and laughs and stories, new memories made. It was so great to see the little clusters of our family, the children perched on laps and boy did I love seeing the smiles.

We acted out the nativity after dinner but sadly most of us were acting so didn't get any pictures, hoping to get some from my cousin's memory card.  The quote below is hilarious if you know the movie but the meaning rings so true....we are always all in this together.

Nobody walking out Old-Fashioned family Christmas fun!:

CHRISTMAS Live Nativity

As children if we were down at the farm for Christmas we would get to see the Live Nativity that the Spruce Grove Congregation puts on. It always brings the Christmas spirit and it is wonderful to have the children watch, listen and get to go touch the animals, the story becomes oh so real.

It was a wonderful night.
The Bird family joined us and the Sibley's joined us too! Attending the Live Nativity is absolutely one of my cherished holiday traditions. I love getting to do these special things with my little crew!!!

O Holy Night!!

dance recital for Amelia Ann

Dancing continues to be a part of our lives.  Amelia's class danced to 'Little Toy Trains' and it was wonderful. So incredibly proud of her.  She is graceful and delicate in her dance, it is beautiful to watch. The best part is she enjoys it!

CHRISTMAS at the cabin

We were able to travel out to the cabin twice over the Christmas holiday's. Graham's dad has done a nice job of making the space work. With the snow it is stunning out there and the girls are always just thrilled at the idea of going out there. Ed asked that I decorate the cabin for Christmas and it was such fun!

The cabin has large windows and it is stunning looking out the window into a winter wonderland.

CHRISTMAS cabin visit with our WHOLE FAMILY, stay tuned...
