Live Nativity

Last night we were fortunate to be able to watch the Live Nativity put on by our church in Spruce Grove.  We had gone as kids because my Grandma and Grandpa Hinko's farm is close. There are sweet childhood memories for us all bundling up warm to attend the Live Nativity.

As soon as the music started I had those little tingles.  It is a wonderful presentation and I am so glad that our ladies were able to watch it.  We have only been once since they were born.  It is absolutely a wonderful activity to make time to attend. We met up the Bird family and our friends the Whites, just a lovely evening.

milk & cookies

We were able to see Santa this year but we didn't go visit the mall,
we had milk and cookies with him!!!

The museum has Santa visit every year.  It was so cold, but so worth venturing out.  The log cabin was cozy and as we hung our coats up and walked in live Christmas music greeted us.  Seriously so wonderful!!! The local Historical Society had colouring sheets and some fun activities for the kiddos as they waited for the big guy to arrive. When he did, it was thrilling.  Santa came in and greeted the children and answered ALL of their questions, about everything.  He then read them a story and then each kiddo got to have time with Santa! It was pretty special.

A bunch of our buddies were there too! It was a pretty wonderful time.

the magic of learning

I try not to be a pusher! I have tried not to push academics and let my girls move at their own pace, discover and have fun with literacy, numeracy but man oh man it is MAGIC!!!!!!!!! I snapped these sweet moments between Grandpa and Amelia. Pretty special, reading some Dr. Seuss together...classic.

movember comes to an end

Our dude has been growing some facial hair this month. Yup it is ADORABLE...insert the sarcasm there!!! Now fore sure some guys work it and our guy has been sorta working it but we prefer him without the hair.  It is for a good cause though, so we have encouraged him along (I even found the cool shirt for him to wear this month). His whole team at work were growing and raising money. Good job Mr. P you did good.

The Polischuk ladies drew some staches on our fingers and then posed for some pics in support of our Mr. P being his last day with the hair.  Now our ladies with their finger staches, they are adorable ;)

Also loved this comment Uncle Jon left on Facebook;

Jon Bird Bitter sweet day for the Polischuks good that Graham can shave again but Jenny will miss that authoritative look that is impossible to resist and G will lose that instant respect that comes with a manly stach

Until next November facial hair.

prepping for the holidays

After November 11th it is game on at our house, bring on the holiday decorations.  Graham had a boys weekend with Uncle Jon so before leaving he helped bring up the Christmas bins.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
 I love the traditions.
I love the decorations.
I love the food.
I love that we can focus on Jesus Christ!!!

AND I also love the fun new print I found and framed by our front door (it was free - score).

I asked Graham if the print was a little harsh, he assured me anyone familiar with the Home Alone movies would laugh. It is pretty funny. I am also in love with the new words on our chalkboard. I am getting good at copying cool things I find on Pinterest. Love me that Pinterest!!!

I love having our home morph into Christmas mode. It just makes me happy :)  Jenn, Rob and baby Max came to visit so we did a few cousin pictures. I love our little peeps!!!! Cousins playing makes me happy too.

ode to Toffee Elsa

This sweet 'bun' (as the girls call her) is totally adored by our family, she is a LOVELY girl.  Miss Toffee Elsa  recently hit the 6 month mark being a Polischuk and we couldn't imagine her not being part of our family.  The girls are pretty good at keeping her water filled and they work together to go get her food from the garage, Stella holds the heavy garage door and Amelia fills her food dish.  Stella and I make sure that the hay is fresh and either Graham or I clean out her cage as needed. She is a sweetie!!!  So patient with our girls and goodness, so cute.  She recently lost her mane but thankfully it is starting to grow back, I think it adds to her adorableness.  It is super awesome when she rubs her face and we all giggle when she gets hopping around and does a high kick jump!!!!

Totally saw this little wild guy out on our neighbors front yard the other day so had to take some pictures.  We rolled down the windows and watched him eat clover.  We said he was probably Toffee's cousin :)

spectacular snow

We woke up to a stunning frost.
It was sooooo beautiful.  Amelia told me as we drove to school talking about how gorgeous it was that this is the reason she "loves winter mom".  I was thinking cool, shocked that your winter love isn't because of FROZEN ;)  Stella and I took a drive down by the river to enjoy the beauty after we kissed Mia and sent her to class.  It spectacular and we were sad to see the frost melt as the day warmed up.
