hard but sweet

It was the sweetest thing when I came across our two woman sitting together while Amelia read a story.  Things I love about this picture; A's crossed legs, her braid with a baby clip she put in, S's crossed ankles and hands in lap, big flower in her hair, ring on her finger, bed made but full of stuffies :) Good moment!

There are moments of sassy back talk, stubborn attitudes and repetitive reminders while they learn responisbility, it can be hard.  I am thankful though to be the person they see the most in their day and although there are challenges, these moments are what I want to remember.

cousin Kingston

It has been such fun having this guy at our place. Kingston is quite the character!  He loves music, his movies and LOVES his Star Wars costume (the girls LOVE theirs too) and we sure love him!!!  The girls think he is hilarious and when they all hug it is just the cutest.  Kingston is a whole head taller and has lots of his adult teeth already, so although he seems older there is only an 8 month age gap.  We love having him stay with us!  Another positive of the wildfire.

the good 'ol library

With my momma the evacuee in town she has been able to spend lots of time with her parents, my grandparents.  We met up at the Public Library downtown and I have got to say that ALL of the libraries in our fine province (that we have been to anyway) ROCK!!! The girls and I went straight to the children's area and the put on a little play for me in the puppet theatre, then we read a few stories on the boat.  Mom and the librarians helped Gramma set up her tablet with read-a-loud books and Grampa's ears even perked up, so they might suck him into getting books onto his tablet too!

It was a fun afternoon followed by dinner all together with the Bird's at IHOP....classic!

my little sidekick

This woman is a gem!!!!!!
She will be dearly missed next year when she is off at school being all big, learning, making friends and having new experiences. I am thrilled for her to take this next step into school (clearly I love school hence becoming a teacher) BUT I am going to miss her terribly. She has been my little sidekick this year, all day just her and I. She has had Joy School once a week and the few programs or lessons we do but the vast majority of our days have been together.  On our weeks to drive for carpool she patiently waits for the bell to ring, now that it is nicer weather we usually wait at the school park but today she wanted to come sit on my lap and pretend to drive so I asked for a kiss first as payment hehehe.  I am going to take all the kisses I can get from her. She was kind of kissing my ear and it was ticklish.  Love this glasses wearing, blue eyed beauty!

morning giggles

I can't think of a better start to the day. Giggles in bed with these two!!!
They both sneak in every night and we don't mind one bit.

Polischuk Farm

With Jennifer down we wanted to get in a visit to the Polischuk farm out in Breton.  Aunt Kathy is darling and was so gracious to invite us out for a bonfire.  They took us out to the back pasture on a trailer, we even stopped along the way to search for little ducklings that had been spotted earlier that day.  Ummmm, of course our girls were on cloud nine.  The corner of their property is so charming, a little stream runs through.   It was pretty awesome and so great to have all of Graham's cousins there (the group picture wasn't taken on my camera sadly), so nice to be together.  We all drove out together so Graham and Jennifer took a tour around the original farm and through town.  There were still some signs around that were hand painted by Grandpa Polischuk (another picture I didn't get on my camera). It was a great day!

gorgeous gorgeous days

With spring totally upon us and the weather gorgeous we have been spending extra time at the park after school and hitting the trails around our house on our bikes.
Even the dandelions are making me happy (only if they aren't in our yard hahaha)!

Due to the fact that our drive way is massive honestly lots of riding just happens in the drive way.  A neighbor at our old house gave us a princess scooter and it is quite popular, I love that the women can just have fun together, built in best friends. I always say it to them but it is true, to have a sister is to have a friend.

Since getting a bike for Mother's Day we have been doing 'family bike rides' ;) It is pretty fun!!! We aren't very hardcore but we enjoy going around our neighborhood together.  I'll have to get a picture of my cool cruiser because I am always the one taking the pictures and don't have a photo of it.
I see lots of family biking in our summer.
