a mother's love

I have enjoyed having my momma around, she is the keystone of our family, the glue, absolutely the matriarch.  In this crazy wildfire situation I am so very thankful my girls are getting this special time with my parents, Gramma Hinko is very popular!!! She is an example of strength and a consistency for me.  She shows each of her children love, treating us as the unique individuals we are.  She has always showed her faith by the way she lives, I admire that devotion.  She is a powerhouse woman, honoring her divine womanhood while showing us and telling us that we can achieve anything as women and that the choice is always ours!  I am grateful that she was my momma and grateful that now she is also my friend.

spontaneity

Spontaneity is always worth it!  I am a creature of habit and thrive on routine but today after church the weather was stunning and I just wanted us to enjoy the beauty so we grabbed some food from home, our picnic blanket and headed down to the river valley. The little ladies were in such a playful mood!  We sure missed dad, he was at work sadly. The dude works so hard for our family, we are grateful for his efforts.

The river is just starting to have green grassy banks and it is beautiful!!! We listened to the birds, even adventured a little through the trees.  Such a fun afternoon together as Polischuk women.

We sent Mr. P a messege saying "We wish you were here!"

slow morning

It seems like it has been forrreeeeevvveeerrr since we were able to have a mello Saturday.  We had a sweet little friends birthday party over dinner but we had the whole day, pj's until noon, some games and just plain old chilling out.  Dance festivals are now over so Amelia decided to cut her hair to her shoulders so we snuck in hair cuts and then took a minute to visit Value Village.  It was a good visit because we walked out the door with my nineteenth globe, yeah!!!!!

These women, sometimes my heart just feels like it might over flow with love for them.

daily diligence

I had an experience while I was up visiting my parents where the girls' later bedtime meant cranky kids and a tired momma.  We were in a house full of other littles trying to get to sleep too and all I really wanted them to do was to fall asleep so I could go chill out for a bit.  Here is the thing, Stella asked if she could come up and cuddle in my bed (the girls and I share a room when we visit - me on the bottom bunk which is a double and them on the trundle beneath) in my haste I said no that I would just hold her hand. Amelia kept talking and again in my haste I cut her off in the midst of her telling me how much she missed our bunny Toffee.  Goodness, I have thought about that a few times!  My heart hurts and I didn't get it right, that happens #momlife.  The girls are growing and they won't always want to snuggle or talk to me....since Spring Break, since that night I have really been trying to change that, be less selfish and more present.  I set a little goal that each day I will gather the girls in my arms and kiss them, bear hug them and tickle them!!!!  I often do that but I want to DAILY, DILIGENTLY make that happen.

Auntie Linda's Farm

I am a nerd but I can't put into words how special it is to go visit Auntie Linda and Uncle Ron's farm.  I have sweet memories of our Hinko Grandparent's farm and am grateful for Auntie Linda, now my girls get to experience baby animals and farm life.

Cousin Neely and big sister Amelia joined our Joy School crew for the visit.  It was a blast visiting 3 day old chicks, a 2 day old calf and a little sweet goat that was only born a week ago.  It was lovely to watch the little folks, see their excitement and Auntie Linda is so gracious.  A fabulous afternoon!!!!

matchy matchy momma and girls

I am sucker for matching, no really it is almost a problem hahahaha! I know the time will come when no one wants to match so I am riding the wave while I can. I love how cute it is and how united and together it makes me feel, kind of silly but true.  I scored these matching red dresses on boxing day, mine is actually a youth size 14 hahaha so it is more of a tunic for me.  We dressed up all matchy matchy and I wanted to snag some pictures of us. Graham is still in full shutdown mode so the girls may get to see him for a few minutes in the mornings (if they are up before 6am as he leaves around then) and then they may get to see him if they are still up past 7:30pm....it is hard for everyone. We have much to be grateful for, the guy has a great job and has a work ethic to be proud of but this shutdown has been LONG! He has been doing prep work since November sometimes not getting home until 9pm!! It has been a long road, we can't wait until it is over.  Saying that the girls and I have a good rhythm at home, I am super thankful that I can be a constant here.  Post dinner dance parties are a pretty regular occurrence for us. After dinner they will help clear the table, I will do the dishes and they will bust moves in the living room, all of us jamming to some tunes.

I had taken a selfie to capture our matchy matchy BUT the girls and I started dancing together and being a little silly in the living room. I had already run their bath water but I grabbed my phone and set it on self timer and this moment is a moment I am so glad I have.
This picture is proof that dreams of motherhood come true!
For years and years and years, literally nearly seven years we prayed for the opportunity to be parents.  These women are our miracles. They bring us such joy.

Roadtrip: Calgary and Medicine Hat

For Amelia's social studies coloured up a bear and were asked to mail Barnaby the Bear or take Barnaby on some adventures to compare other communities.  We decided to keep the Barnaby and take him with us to Fort McMurray and then down to Calgary and Medicine Hat.   Telus SPARK was amazing and such a fun morning!!

My cousin Addie and her family have moved to Strathmore so we took a pit stop at their home on our roadtrip south. Amelia and Camilla have had a special bond, born only 6 weeks apart it has been lovely watching them grow. They are sweet pen pals and are always so eager to get together!

Visiting the Jacobers in Medicine Hat was fantastic, our girls are ages; 4, 5, 6 & 7.....we are both incredibly blessed!  These ladies get along so well together, it is pretty sweet.  We had a dance party night where the girls got all fancied up with nail polish, hair and dresses, then they went dancing in the back yard. Good times!

The weather was stunning so some park playing, backyard playing and lots of good visiting made for a great weekend.  There is something comfortable about old friends, those Jacobers, they are good peeps.  Jeff even babysat ALL of the little girls so Amy and I could get a pedicure, so nice of him.

I also got my first summer flower!
There is something so sweet about dandelion bouquets from my girls.

Although it is hard when Mr. P works shutdowns we ALL power through.  Graham works long hours and we ladies keep busy, we miss him but we power through.  Our little ladies have become great road warriors and we have much to be thankful for.
