free slurpees - YES PLEASE!

I am a fan of slurpees!  Anyone who has known me for a long time knows this.  I have gone through a few of the massive red 7-11 thermos cups they sell that hold 1.2L of slurpee.
Who buys those you might think to your self? Me.  They are perfect for road trips or beach days.  Anyway it was 7-11 day today and our family made a pit stop so we could have free slushies with our BBQ.  It was actually a super 'cool' day because we had these for a snack earlier...
Miller's Ice Cream Hut is on our Summer Bucket List and we took our Uncle Mikey with us to have an afternoon snack. Yummy!!  We later remembered it was 7-11 day and so had a double header of coolness! Bahhhhh it is summer, "live it up" the Polischuk's say.

We had spent the morning looking at trees n shrubs n flowers for our yard.  Yeah, we are scheduled to get our landscaping done in two weeks!!! We will just call all of the cool treats fuel for yard planning. :P

relishing the summer sun

Apparently blowing a dandelion is hard for kids, my kids anyway!  It is pretty cute to watch them try. I eventually showed Stella how you can wave it around and all of the seeds will blow in the wind. I sure do love these ladies! Dandelion picking can make for slow pace walks, I dig it.

I try to send Graham a picture or two throughout the day, a little snip it of what we are doing. It started when Stella was a baby and I went up to Fort McMurray to heal from my c-section/kidney infection, we sent him a picture a day of newborn Stella and toddler Amelia. It has become habit and we both enjoy it and it sometimes helps me remember to tell him about little things. These 3 pictures were from today.

We have had fabulous weather this week and have taken to eating outside whenever possible.  Front porch sitting is popular for lunch. My little darlings move their chairs, grab their plates and I smile as there are no crumbs for me to clean up :)  We now have our back deck stained and the furniture finally out, so that has been a popular hang out/eating spot too.  I love how with children a little spontaneity can make for such fun for them.
I LOVE hanging with these ladies.  It is the best, most rewarding, yet toughest job EVER!!!!  These sweet shots of my women wipe away any of the frustrations.  We had a full out, lay down on the ground spaz over getting to choose a cookie (instead of the cupcake also on display)  yes a cookie instead of the desired cupcake ha!  It almost makes me laugh now.  Aside from those little 'joys' of parenting, greatest job ever!  Amelia told me "that I am the best mom and that she'll love me even when she grows up", most rewarding I say!

Heat Wave

Legislature Pools make for tons of fun in the sun!

So perhaps this isn't a true heat wave BUT it has been feeling darn warm. This is mostly a good thing.  It has made me grateful that Mr. P insisted we get a/c last summer, I have appreciated being able to cool down inside sometimes.  What do we do in the hot, hot heat....play in the water yo!  My ladies got these darling hats from Etsy and I am in love with how sweet they are on my sweet chicks. A bonnet for Stella and a Mod hat for Mia, matching fabric, gotta love Etsy!
Finley has had a standing Wednesday play date with us and we sure try to do fun things.  I was asked two times on our LEG day if  'all three were mine?' and then told I 'had my hands full'.  Gosh it is only three kiddos people. They all have a blast together, hugs and excited screeching when they get together and hugs, sometimes tears upon departure. Good friends!

Since we finished staining the deck last week I got all productive and built the water table. It is actually a water/sand table but I filled both sides with water.  We had hit the dollarstore on our errands and found little pressurized water guns (Amelia was aiming at me in the pic), such a score.
I was doing laundry with the window open, so I could hear them and came out to find them all sitting in the table!!!!  What, what!!! I can't wait for us to get grass so we can set up the little pool.  They were just doing what it took to stay cool I guess :)
We'll take the heat over snow! No complaints here.

orange julius

We needed a fun, cool (literally) snack the other day, I looked in the freezer and had a flash to warm summer days on the farm.  I had gotten the recipe from a friend and the summer I was 12 or 13 I probably made a batch of Orange Julius a day my two weeks at the farm, really a batch a day.  We had orange concentrate in the freezer and so we pulled it out, grabbed the blender, the stool and went to it.  The girls LOVE helping so they pressed the buttons, Stella covered her ears and we all enjoyed the end product.  Also, don't fun straws make everything more awesome!  Fun straws are a must I think :)  Stella told Mia that they "should use the steps like a little table". Oh my girls how they rock!!!! Can I also just note at the adorableness of my baby girls' hand on my leg...not so babyish anymore....tear!  They keep telling everyone that in the fall Amelia goes to Kindergarten and gets to take violin lessons (we scored a teacher) and that Stella get to go to Joy School AND they both get to do ballet.  They are getting sooooo big, my heart!!!!
Orange Julius Recipe
6 can of frozen orange juice concentrate
1/2 cup milk
1 cup water (more if needed)
1 teaspoon vanilla
12 ice cubes
***must not forget to make this more often

sisters are a gift

I am feeling all sentimental as I put pictures from my phone into files on the computer and as I looked at this image of our girlies my heart beamed.  My sisters are my strength, my courage, my friends....I am SO GLAD that Amelia Ann and Stella Charlene have one another.  All children are miracles but for us, having two children is a MIRACLE!!!!  I am so very grateful to a Heavenly Father that blessed us twice. So thankful!

Maxwell Graham Noseworthy

Max made an early arrival at 32 weeks 5 days!
He is adored by his parents and has a family on both sides that think he is pretty wonderful!!!!

Maxwell Graham Noseworthy
June 27th 2014  @ 11:27pm
5lb 5oz

He is rocking the NICU and doing fabulous!!!! We are all feeling so grateful that things are going so good for him.  Max is a champ!  Jenn is also steller, doing everything she possibly can to make things the very best for Max. Pumping and staying at the hospital is not easy but she is doing it.  He is such a handsome little man and such a sweet disposition already.   They girls got special permission to have a peek the other day (only siblings typically allowed) Stella sang him 'Twinkle, Twinkle' and said he was "so cute".  Amelia said "oh he is smaller then a mouse and so sweet".  They are big fans of their new cousin!  When he opens his eyes, so alert just taking everything in....such fun.  We LOVE HIM so much already!  Can't imagine life without him, funny how that happens so quickly. Excited for him to get to come home!!!!  Jenn and Rob are probably the most excited.

celebrating CANADA

Auntie Jenn had little Maxwell Graham Noseworthy on Friday June 27th, a crazy 7 weeks early so we have been in a baby haze, smiling, visiting, trying to help and being excited for a new cousin, Canada Day sprung up on us this year.  Luckily I have a stash of 'Canadian' pride gear.  So we took the day to celebrate the great place we live.

It was such a wonderful day to be together as a little family!!!!
We loaded up the wagon and found a spot on the parade route which was in the shade, sweet.  There is something so darling about our city's little parade; tractors and horses, community band playing and just an over all sweet vibe. After the parade we walked a few blocks and got some burgers, chips n pop from the Anglican church, they do it as a fundraiser each year...totally balanced out the parade candy we had eaten. Super cute as we made our way towards the festivities in Pioneer Park we walked passed Amelia's future school and she had to run over to hug it and give her school a kiss hahaha you think she's excited for school?!  (she has told me she will probably be nervous and a bit shy the first day though)  The city hosted a ton of free and awesome activities. We walked through the farmer's market and listened to the live bands playing country and rock classics.  The request from our ladies was to get their faces painted so we waited in that long line to get a kitty (Stella) and a butterfly (Amelia) painted on.  The petting zoo line was also long so we opted to pet through the fence, after all we have a rabbit at home to cuddle anytime we want :)  Our city also has a heard of sheep that graze on different fields, they were out by the museum and we went to visit of course.  We also hit up the local museum so that was cool, I'm embarrassed to say we had never been.  It was just beautiful weather and such a fun vibe!  There were so many families out with their dogs and so of course we pet a ton of puppies, that was mentioned as a highlight by the girls.  The highlight for me was stopping for shaved ice and eating together in the shade before we headed home. Graham and I laid on the grass together while the girls played coming back now and then for bites of the cool treat.  It was one of those great family days!!!!!! Oh and the ladies were asleep 3 minutes after getting into their car seats!!!!  We didn't do the fireworks, some year by early birds might be able to make it.
