new specs for Stella

Big change for our Stella Bella, she got herself some specs!!!!
(The sunglasses are from the second exam she had were they dilated her eyes)

We had our annual eye exams, everyone in the family actually! I had a darn eye infection and our little miss Stella ended up needing glasses.  We checked out five different places, yes five looking for little glasses that fit her narrow face, would stay up and be stylish of course!!!!  We had success at Walmart of all places and will get another pair after her four week check up.  She isn't really rough and tumble but she is a kid so we will get another pair just because :)  We think she looks so mature and smart and adorable!! Love her and glad she can see.  She has been a champ about keeping them on.

Fort McMurray Adventures

Adventures up to Fort McMurray always go way too quickly and we always pack a lot into our time together....it is precious being together.  Something funny from this trip north was the excitement of the Sears Wishbook, some serious excitement yo!!!!  Amelia was totally enthralled and into the toys.  Stella, taking the lead from her sister would sit and flip through the book also.  There were multiple comments each time the book was opened, it was definitely rightfully named the 'Wishbook'.  Another fun part of heading up to visit was that baby Max is now home and whenever he was around there was great adoration :)  He is such a cutie, with cheeks so kissable.  Everyone sure loves him and all of the girlies wanted in on some Max time.

Stella LOVES holding baby Max and will sit and hold him for a long time (20 min in this photo).  She just likes to sit and have him with her. Stella loves to sing him Twinkle, Twinkle which just melts our hearts!!!  The girl also has an amazing imagination and likes to play pretend; she is either baby Max or Kingston's cat Leia...just a little side note I must record.

Kingston recently got a trampoline and it is super fun for the kiddos!!!!!!
Our ladies are like me, floppy but love to have a good time so we sent in Uncle Mikel to help make sure things didn't get too wild.  They are a funny bunch and love playing together.  Sadly Kingston was away the weekend we were there.

Super special about this trip Jacey Bird turned 6!!!!!!
Time has flown by and we celebrated with a seafood feast because Bird-Girl is a lover of seafood.
You can see from her smiles she also loved her cake, whole hand went for it....kinda funny!

This trip north was fun, quick and memorable!

sisters weekend

Back in August we had a fun sister/momma weekend!!!!

The smiles are totally evidence of the good time we had.  We traveled down to Lethbridge to visit a new babe of family friends and had good conversation, wicked shopping and some seriously yummy food.  Definitely need to make it happen more often.  So lucky to be born into a family where the women I am related to have become my best friends.

sixteen inches

Don't think I've mentioned it yet but I cut off 16 inches of my hair!!!!!!
So a few years back as turning 30 was getting closer I decided to grow my hair long, like a super long, crazy long, a last long hair growth before I got old ha.  So I turn 33 in a few weeks and I actually don't feel all that old and see a lot of women older then me with long hair totally workin it.  That aside, I reached my long hair goal and made the cut! I really didn't have a goal length in mind but I rarely do my hair and was feeling it was time.  It felt good, no tears or sadness (wasn't sure how I was going to take it honestly).  It was Amelia who actually shed tears as I left for my appointment.  One of my old girls from church is now a stylist so I went to her for the big cut. It is still in a ziplock bag in the car actually, I want to take Amelia with me to mail it :) you know, to help her with the healing.  No pony tails and  new for me, styling is required each day...big change!

ol' macdond's farm for the day

These adorable faces are the offspring of three really good friends from high school, oh and my girls are in there too.  We had a camping date with Amy, Jodi, Julie and Brandi. The five of us with our families gathered together a few weekends ago at Ol' Macdonald's Farm near Red Deer.  Our family only ended up making it a day trip because baby Max was still in the hospital but it was stilll soooooooo fun!!  Ironically three of us have two daughters, two years apart all with in a 3 year age span. one friend has a little boy and is expecting in the new year, our other friend has an adorable dog that my girls went crazy for.  I only had my phone for pictures and sadly didn't get a group shot of the adults.

The location was great!  We had heard good things about it thus picking it as a gathering place.  The parks were fun, the girls were into the train and even rain in the evening did not put a 'damper' (get it) on the fun had by all. The kiddos got along great!!  They are all basically into the same things; princesses, colouring, crafting and games. They stayed busy and the adults enjoyed visiting and catching up. Brandi and Julie I haven't seen in 3 years since Julie's wedding - what!  It was suggested we do a pot luck dinner and it was off the hook scrumptious!!!!!  Definitely need to plan to do that again.

Serious princess play happening above and snow cone awesomeness happening below.  Amy n Jeff have a sweet machine for slush drinks and snow cones, fun!
I would give the petting zoo at the campground a 2/5. While they had some neat things like the peacock, everything was behind a chainlink fence :(  Or for the horse a wire fence.

Friendships rekindled and fast friends with new acquaintances. I love watching how kiddos do that.
As we talked parenting, we noticed a theme with all of our second born children.....adorableness and a strong will!  I must say it is a tad bit reassuring.  Makes one not feel so alone when you have tough parenting moments.
Rides and rain! Fun times I say!
Catching raindrops on tongues and Ring-Around-The-Rosy are so classic.

There is a sweet comfort in friendships that have spanned many years.  These ladies I have known since grade nine and Brandi even earlier.  They have seen all of my hair styles, clothing choices, boyfriends, cheered me through some of life's challenges, celebrated the joys with me and although sometimes time passes between visits I know they are there.  I appreciate our friendship, great ladies!

Timberlea teaching buddies

L to R: Maxine, Brenda, Sandra, Ariane, Margaret, Moi  (Ky and Chase - Ariane's littles in front)
When you work daily with people there is often special connections and friendships that form. Such is the case with the schools I worked at in Fort McMurray.  I admired folks, worked along side them and we often became friends.  This fun crew of Timberlea gals gathered at Ariane's for a BBQ and it was seriously so awesome to get to visit and reconnect with these fabulous ladies.  Our kids had a blast playing together too!!  I totally had flashes reminding me of how much I enjoyed school and teaching.  It will come again in another season of life for me, right now things have worked out for me to be at home with our little women BUT yes someday I will return to the classroom.

I get asked all the time if they are twins.
They are lucky to have one another.
We feel blessed to have them.
